F'NA started life as a few hunting buddies wanting calls that worked better than those $20 calls you can buy at the stores. in I was fortunate enough to meet Brian Kahey of Cypress Slough Custom Calls through his cousin Brett McPhearson who is a good friend and hunting buddy. He turned a few calls right before my eyes.....and the spark began! Brian was very helpful in guiding me towards some of the right tools for the job and I started to try it out. the rest is history, as they say!
Every one blows a call a little different, and calls need to be fine tuned for the individual for a consistent sound. We strive to build a call forgiving enough that anyone can pick one of ours up and go hunting with it even without the personal tuning.
We started making our own calls and showed them off to the rest of our friends at our annual duck camp week. People kept asking where they could get our calls and we started selling a few.Things progressed from there to where we are now; still small enough to custom build calls one at a time.
At F'NA, we build calls for hunting. We don't do contest type calls because we only hunt. Every one of our calls are individually made and hand tuned by us to achieve the best quality sound that we can offer. If we wouldn't hunt with it, we won't sell it.
Each call is individually crafted by hand on a lathe, therefore no two calls are exactly the same.
We build the Single reed call which has an incredible range on top end and still have a raspy quack on the soft low end of the sound.
We also offer the Double reed call which is more forgiving throughout the range to blow but, doesn't quite have the top end of the Single. All calls come with a 100% customer satisfaction! All calls come with a draw string bag, extra reed/reeds, cork, and packed with a certificate of authenticity inside a custom cardboard box.
